APP Usage Examples

Android / iOS

Search for the download page and click the [Install] button to install, as shown in Figure 1.

  1. After installation is completed, open the device name interface, select the name of the battery pack that needs to be connected, and click on it, as shown in Figure 2
  2. When entering the app for the first time, a pop-up window will prompt you to obtain Bluetooth usage permission. Click on the settings and select agree to use, as shown in Figure
  3. Note: When connecting Bluetooth, please confirm that the Bluetooth and GPS switches on your phone are turned on first, otherwise you will not be able to connect.

Following a successful Bluetooth connection, you can click the [Status Display] button at the bottom left of the main interface to switch between diverse display interfaces and learn about the detailed data of the battery pack. The following data can be viewed, as depicted in Figure 4.

  1. Display the battery level and percentage, enabling users to better grasp the real-time battery level.
  2. Present the charging and discharging switches.
  3. Exhibit the total voltage of the battery.
  4. Reveal the magnitude of the charging and discharging current.
  5. Display the power size.
  6. Present the number of battery pack cycles.
  7. Display battery status, ambient temperature, MOS temperature, first group cell temperature, and second group cell temperature.
  8. Display the voltage details in multiple series of battery cells, encompassing voltage difference, average voltage, minimum voltage, maximum voltage, and voltage difference for each series of battery cells.
  9. Present alarm information and set parameters
  10. Set parameters.

* Unauthorized alteration of the parameters of the BMS board may cause abnormal operation of the battery and affect the product warranty, lf necessary, please contact the customer service to obtain the password.

Nick,

I like the app, but the instruction manual in the app doesn’t match the software. The manual refers to “BMS Meta” – it looks like it has features not present in Wattcycle.
I like the idea of an app, but it’s hard to get the most out of it when I don’t know how it’s supposed to work.

Gregg Garthright,

For a quality product like this, a little improvement in the app is necessary.
1. I can’t understand why it’s not possible to indicate the time remaining until the discharge limit specified by the user, not the BMS’s.
2. And if I had to ask, an notification when the user-set limit is reached. It would be almost perfect.
Thanks a lot

vic,

What does the charge and discharge button do on the app for the 314 amp hour smart 12 volt battery?
When spending five or $600 on batteries it would be nice to have better documentation and explain what each of the buttons do and why doesn’t all of the data work on the app like amount of cycles.

Mike,

Where can I find the error code explainations?

Joe,

Like others, I bought a newer 100ah Smart Mini. Received it today, and finding out that these newer ones won’t work with the older Bluetooth BMS Meta app. Downloaded the newer version and it does work on my iPhone 5S, but unfortunately, the view of the monitoring information on the screen is all jumbled together. This was NOT the case with the older BMS Meta version. I was able to download the new app onto my iMac, and it works fine on that and the viewing is OK. But like others, I am not a fan of this newer version. I’ll just put this one into my 4-pack of parallel batteries (1 of which is a Smart version) for an emergency inverter and use one of my older ones for traveling in my car to plug my electric 12-volt cooler into it.

Steve Johnson,

What is the password or where can I get the password

David ,

I like the feature of the older “BMS Meta” where it displays the voltage of each individual cell. Is there a way to get the new “Wattcycle” bluetooth app to display each individual cell’s voltage??? Right now, it can only display the total system voltage.

TomL,

Bought 2 12 volt 100 amp batteries. Can’t connect with Bluetooth. Both apps not working. Please advise. Thanks.

Lester Simonson,

Need password for my Mini 100 BT to access basic info in the BMS meta app that is missing from the Wattcycle app. The password “888888” from this article doesn’t work.

Mitchell,

Hello,
I tried both “META” programs, the old one with the link (V1.1.5) and the one available on the Android Play Store. I had a password issue with both. The code “888888” didn’t work, making them unusable. So, I installed the Wattcycle V25.3.32 app instead.

It’s true that it works without a password, but I find it a bit lacking. You can’t choose the temperature unit in the settings, as it’s forced to Fahrenheit, and on the main display, both (F and C) are always shown, making it less clear to read.

More concerning is the lack of diagnostics for each cell (temperature and, most importantly, voltage), which is essential for checking the balancing. The battery cycle count is also missing, which is important for assessing wear. Yet, all these parameters are available in competitor apps.

On the plus side, the settings do include useful options like warranty registration and the support URL.

I really hope that Wattcycle will improve this app.

FRANCOIS-XAVIER VAN THUAN,

Just got 2 12v 100amh batteries. Where is proper documentation? Tried BMS meta, but there is no name on eithet battery. Wattcycle app has no documentation i can see, UI is minimal and its not connecting. Thanks

Susan Kyle,

What does the “CHG Switch” and the DSG Switch" do? The Bluetooth App User manual simply states " (2) Display the charging and discharging switches" – What does that mean? What do the switches actually do ? – Thank You.

Charles C Emge,

Why are there two app’s in the android app store? There is the WattCycle App, and The BMS Meta App by zhouyuanfei. What is the correct app to use? Why are there two apps? Thank you.

Charles C Emge,

My battery does not charge or discharge. Need the password for my battery to check out the BMS status. XDZN_001_B67A. Tried 8s, 1s, 123456. None is working

Di Acm,

Need the password for my new battery.
XDZN_001_8F65

Tried all 8’s didn’t work.
