The default of the new factory battery is [ sleep state ],the first 3 times need to be fully charged, discharged and then fully charged, and then discharged... to fully activate the battery capacity.

How can l charge it?
Please keep the battery pack 30%-60% of the power storage , and charge the battery once every 3 months. Please select the LiFePO4 charger with a rated voltage of 14.6V according to the parameters specified on the battery nameplate to charge the battery.
What is the recommended fully charge voltage and current?

The recommended fully charge voltage is 14.2-14.6V. And the current is under 12A.

How long can it last after a full charge?

The WattCycle 12V 12Ah battery capacity means it can deliver 12 ampere hours (Ah) of power under ideal conditions. The duration depends on the power requirements of the connected device. In general, the following formula can be used to estimate the battery's duration:

Duration (Hours) = Battery Capacity (Ah) / Device Power (in Watts, W)

For example, if the device has a power of 60W, then:

Duration (hours) = 12Ah / 60W = 0.2 hours = 12 minutes

This is an estimate under ideal circumstances. In actual use, the battery duration may be affected by various factors, such as temperature, usage environment, equipment efficiency, etc.

Is it normal to get hot when charging the battery?

Yes, it will get hot during charging. This is because when charging, the current passing through the battery causes an internal chemical reaction in which some of the energy is converted into heat. This internal reaction causes the battery to generate heat, so the surface of the battery will feel warm and sometimes even become hot.

The amount of heat generated depends on a variety of factors, including the battery's charging rate, charger design, ambient temperature, and the condition of the battery (for example, whether the battery is over-discharged). Under normal use conditions, moderate heat is normal, but if the battery is abnormally hot, it may indicate a problem that requires inspection and treatment.

Will charging it overnight damage the battery?

Charging it overnight will usually not damage the battery, provided you are using a suitably designed charger and the battery itself is in good condition.

At the same time, our battery is installed with 12A BMS.
BMS monitors the voltage of the battery, and once it detects that the voltage reaches the preset overcharge threshold, it will take measures to stop charging. This is usually accomplished by cutting off the charging current or sending a signal to the charger to stop charging. This prevents the battery from continuing to receive charging and causing the voltage to exceed the safe range, thereby avoiding overcharging.

However, charging for a long time may increase the temperature of the battery, which may have a certain impact on the battery life.
To maximize the life of your battery, it is recommended to follow the charging recommendations and to regularly check the status of your battery.
If you are concerned about the safety or longevity of your battery, consider using a smart charger with an auto-stop function, as well as regular battery inspection and maintenance

About Connections

What is the difference of series and parallel connection?

The difference between series and parallel connections of lithium batteries lies in how they are arranged in the circuit:

1) Series Connection:
- In a series connection, lithium batteries are connected end-to-end, with the positive terminal of one battery connected to the negative terminal of the next.
- This arrangement increases the total voltage of the battery bank while keeping the overall capacity unchanged.
- Each battery's voltage adds up, resulting in a higher total voltage across the circuit.
- The current flowing through each battery remains the same.
- Series connection is often used to increase voltage for applications requiring higher voltage levels.

Eg: Two WattCycle 12V 100Ah LiFePO4 Batteries connected in series, you will get 24V voltage, 100Ah current and 2400Wh battery capacity.
At this time, the voltage increases by 12V, the current remains unchanged, and the battery capacity increases by 2 times.

Series Connections Voltage Current Capacity
WattCycle 12V 100Ah *1 12V 100Ah 1200Wh
WattCycle 12V 100Ah *2 24V 100Ah 2400Wh
WattCycle 12V 100Ah *3 36V 100Ah 3600Wh

2) Parallel Connection:
- In a parallel connection, lithium batteries are connected side by side, with all positive terminals connected together and all negative terminals connected together.
- This arrangement increases the total capacity of the battery bank while keeping the overall voltage unchanged.
- Each battery contributes its capacity to the total capacity of the bank.
- The voltage across each battery remains the same, while the total current capacity is the sum of the capacities of all batteries.
- Parallel connection is often used to increase current capacity for applications requiring higher current levels.

eg: Two WattCycle 12V 100Ah LiFePO4 Batteries connected in parallel, you will get 12V voltage, 200Ah current and 2400Wh battery capacity.
At this time, the current increases by 100Ah, the voltage remains unchanged, and the battery capacity increases by 2 times.

Parallel Connections Voltage Current Capacity
WattCycle 12V 100Ah *1 12V 100Ah 1200Wh
WattCycle 12V 100Ah *2 12V 200Ah 2400Wh
WattCycle 12V 100Ah *3 12V 300Ah 3600Wh

In summary, series connection increases voltage while keeping capacity constant, whereas parallel connection increases capacity while keeping voltage constant.

What is 4S4P?

A:
"4S4P" is a common notation used to describe the configuration of a battery pack, detailing both the series and parallel connections within the pack. Specifically:

4S: Represents four battery cells connected in series.
Series connections increase the total voltage of the battery pack.
For example, if each cell has a voltage of 3.2V, the total voltage after connecting four cells in series would be 4 * 3.2V = 12.8V.

4P: Represents four groups of battery cells connected in parallel.
Parallel connections increase the total capacity (Ah) of the battery pack.
For example, if each cell has a capacity of 8Ah, the total capacity after connecting four groups of cells in parallel would be 4 * 8Ah = 32Ah.

A "4S4P" battery configuration indicates that the battery pack is composed of four cells connected in series to form a series group, and then four of these series groups are connected in parallel.
This configuration allows for an increase in both voltage and capacity simultaneously. Here are the specific parameters for a "4S4P" battery pack:

- Cell voltage: 3.2V
- Cell capacity: 8Ah

Total parameters of the 4S4P battery pack:
- Total voltage: 4 * 3.2V = 12.8V
- Total capacity: 4 * 8Ah = 32Ah

This configuration is commonly used in applications that require higher voltage and larger capacity, such as electric vehicles, power tools, and energy storage systems.
