Does anyone have a good description of the self heat sequence on Wattcycle batteries. I see that some brands will only heat if you have an operating charger. If I am correct, without the sun or shore power, you would need to run a generator to heat these brand of batteries.
Discription from Brand X - Heated by your charger (≥7A recommended), it ensures safe and efficient charging even in freezing weather
I recently inquired with WattCycle and was told their batteries require an external charging source in order to heat. I don't consider this self heating and told them so. I think batteries that do not require an external connection to heat are self heating. If a battery can't hear itself without an external power supply, how is that self heating. It is not. The battery may have a built in heating element, but that's all. Unfortunately, while some batteries trulu can self heating, companies eager to make a sale make the unfortunate choice to mislead the public.
