Password protection

  • The app needs a password protection! Anyone can mess with my battery when I am travelling, this is dangerous.

  • The neighbor on the parking spot can just use the app to turn off my lights. They can also disable protection features, for example, set the overvoltage to 16V or the undervoltage to 8V. That will destroy the battery. Please urgently add a password or PIN for the Bluetooth interface or the BMS.

  • @Tobias Thank you for reporting this critical security issue. We take it very seriously.
We are currently developing and testing several additional tasks beyond this one.
This update is expected to be complete in November, and we will promptly notify all users via the app and email. Your safety and device protection are our top priorities.

  • @Joey That is really good news and highly appreciated! Looking forward to the update. Let me know if I can help with (beta-) testing.

  • Sounds great, I am looking forward to the new version 👍

  • @Joey what is the expected date for the update app with the password?

  • How about updating the app so that it will work for a stack of the rack batteries when they are networked for commo with an inverter/charger?
Only one battery can be connected to the phone app, and very minimal information can be obtained.
I have a customer with a stack of 7 batteries which reported to the inverter that they were too cold to charge.  There needs to be a way to read BMS info.  State of charge and temperature of each battery would be extremely useful.

  • @WattCycle Team_Joey Was password implemented yet? I recived a new APP update but now cant use it. Needs an account but no way to create an account and my online wattcyce account does not work on the app. Now I can not monitor and control the batteries which has introduced a new risk,

  • Looking for an update on this as well. New app offers BIND. Is that locking other devices out? Some clairly on protected settings would be great. Thanks

  • Anyone get their 48v 100ah "new" rack mount batteries to communicate with anything via RS485?
