Battery Says 100% when its not

  • Hello, I have 314 AH battery.

    Order # #WTUS7953
The voltage is around 11.8,(average cell 2.9v.  (.05 variance) says it's 100 % full.  It still works, so what's going on?

It's a hoverd around 13.1 in the past.

    Thanks,
    -Scott

  • I have mine reporting full when they are not. I reported this error thru the app as well and there is not response from the company. Once you buy its your problem I guess.

  • @Scott Jackson It is not full at 11.8 to 11.6 volts. It's more like 10% full at best. And 13.1 is somewhere between 50 and 60% state of charge (SOC). Do NOT go by the percentage being reported in the app for SOC. I've found the voltage reported in the app to be quite accurate. Go by voltage to determine SOC instead. And resting voltage, meaning when it has been disconnected from a charger or anything else for a few hours, is the best way to know for sure what the true SOC is. I hope that helps. I don't work for WattCycle but I have enough experience and have done enough research to know what's what when it comes to these LiFePO4 batteries. These WattCycle batteries are very well built. But that SOC percentage error is a real issue with the Bluetooth app. Having said that, it is real nice to have accurate voltage being reported in the app to use to determine SOC instead.

  • @kevlook See my reply to Scott Jackson in the message thread.

  • I understand voltage. That is not the point here.
